Coeburn Tool | The Clinch Knife Overview

Coeburn Tool | The Clinch Knife

As the very first Coeburn Tool knife, we're proud to say that we couldn't be happier with The Clinch. With input from local Coeburners, our personal knife user knowledge, and lots of redesigning, we were able to create a knife that is not only appealing to the eye, but appealing to use.

The Clinch was inspired by the Clinch River, the crown of the mountain empire. This ever-moving body of water flows approx. 135 miles through many counties and states, and was key in the settlement of Virginia. Due to its importance, we felt it deserved "only the best" to commemorate it. Thus the Clinch was born.

Blade Specifications

The blade on this knife is 3.81" long with a curved, satin finish M390 blade. It features a prominent swedge along the top for reduced blade weight, as well as to enhance the knife's balance and improve its piercing ability. We choose to make our blade out of M390 steel because we felt this design deserved "only the best". Known for it's quality, M390 has superior sharpness retention and therefore is extremely wear & tear resistant. We know those who own this knife are going to USE it, and we wanted to ensure that it lasted as long as possible. We also made it a flipper for easy and fast deployment.

Handle Specifications

The handle of the Clinch features hand-rubbed micarta scales, in either black or green. Not only do they add a rustic and homemade look to our knife, but they grant users a firm grip, whether rain or shine. Here at Coeburn Tool we wanted a knife that looked like it belonged to real people, so it was only fitting for us to design a handle that curved naturally to one's hand. The ergonomics, texture, and look of the micarta scales only enhance this elegant, but work-ready folder.

Hardware & Lockup

Stainless hardware holds this hefty folder together and are easy to remove with a simple torx screwdriver (like most knives). Underneath the micarta scales are stainless liners that are easy to clean and built for a strong linerlock lockup. Lastly, this knife has a tip-up titanium pocket clip because we know in a hard use world, you need hard use equipment. By affixing a titanium clip to our knife, you're guaranteed a lightweight but durable piece that is sure to stand up to whatever pockets you put it through, since titanium has the highest strength-to-density of any metallic element and is highly corrosion resistant. Like we've said before, "Only the Best."
